A Kongming Lock is a Chinese classic: wooden beams that interlock without a single screw or drop of glue. The name refers to Zhuge Liang, the strategist also known as Kongming who lived from 220 to 280 AD.
This Sliding Six Brothers is the six-piece version by designer Johoson Zhao from China, a further development of his earlier four-piece Kongming Lock. The same principles, many more headaches: even with the instructions, taking it apart and putting it back together requires a good deal of patience and spatial awareness.
Like the entire 3D VIP Gold series, this wooden brainteaser is made from red padauk, black walnut, and white maple. A puzzle for those who like a challenge and want to be able to say they succeeded afterwards.
