Micro Mobility has a rich history and a clear philosophy that resonates with every child, dating back to its founding in Switzerland in the 1990s. Micro Mobility's story began when the inventor of the Micro Scooter—Wim Ouboter, a Swiss citizen of Dutch origin—wanted to develop a means of transport for covering "micro" distances. Something that naturally appealed to In den Olifant, a toy store in Antwerp's city center.

In 1996, Micro designed the very first foldable aluminum scooter with small skate wheels. A significant milestone in the history of Micro Mobility. The LED lights in the Micro Step wheels don't require batteries because they're powered by the rotation of the wheels themselves. This makes them extremely convenient and maintenance-free. There are also special LED moon wheels with an extra row of lights built into the wheels, making them even brighter when in use. You can also buy a set of wheels with lights separately and mount them on your scooter if you don't already have one.

Step safely with your Micro scooter by adjusting it to your own height, or allowing your child's to grow with your child as they grow. Micro scooters have infinitely adjustable handlebars. This means you can set the handlebars to any desired height within a defined range. The handlebars can be moved up or down and locked at the desired height.

This system offers a high degree of flexibility, making it suitable for a wide range of users. Most other scooter manufacturers use handlebars designed with three fixed positions, which you don't have with Micro Mobility :-)
Steering with your weight is like surfing the streets.

Another signature Micro feature is their 3-wheeled scooters with their lean-to-steer system, also known as the "tilt-and-steer" mechanism. Parents often find this odd, but children immediately embrace it and love it. Instead of traditional handlebars turned with their hands, this system uses the rider's lean to steer the scooter. Micro developed this mechanism in collaboration with Swiss medical experts. It's designed to develop children's gross motor skills, hand-eye coordination, core strength, spatial awareness, muscle coordination, self-confidence, and independence, and has been reviewed and approved by a biomechanics expert.

What are the basic principles of the lean-to-steer mechanism?

• Leaning to the left or right: When the rider leans to the left, the handlebars tilt to the left, and the scooter steers to the left. The same applies, of course, to leaning to the right.
• Centering: The handlebars return to their neutral position when the rider stops leaning. This means that if the rider stops leaning, the handlebars automatically return to an upright position, keeping the scooter riding straight.
• Intuitive: The lean-to-steer system is often more intuitive for children than a traditional handlebar. Instead of learning how to turn the handlebars, they simply have to learn how to move their body to steer the scooter, which feels more natural for many children.
• Stability: This system can also help promote stability while riding. Because the handlebars respond to body movements, the rider can more easily maintain balance, especially when cornering.

A collection to be proud of: the Micro ECO line

It doesn't stop at beautiful Swiss design and high-quality materials. Micro Mobility's eco-line focuses on tackling the plastic problem in the oceans through innovative and environmentally friendly initiatives. The deck and brakes of the Eco scooters are made from recycled and reused "Green Plastic" from the maritime industry, such as old fishing nets, ropes, and other plastic waste that would otherwise end up in the sea. This approach not only reduces the amount of plastic waste but also lowers the ecological footprint and promotes a circular economy. In addition, Micro donates 1% of sales of the ECO line to environmental organizations. The Eco scooters are available in light green, dark green, and black, the color of the nets.
