Saint Nicholas

Every year, Sinterklaas continues to dream of our toy chest. He sees a stuffed animal as soft as a cloud, a wooden train that races across the living room, a game that no one wants to stop playing. Since 1970, toy store In den Olifant has been selecting the finest toys for shoes that make children’s eyes light up, and the entire selection is available online. That way, you can find the ideal Sinterklaas gift that won’t end up in a corner after a week, but will remain at the top of the toy chest long after December 6.

A Sinterklaas gift by age or type of play

Do you know the child’s age but not what you’re looking for? Start with shop by age, from rattles for the very young to brain teasers for older children. Do you know the child very well? Then choose by type of play. For those who spend the whole afternoon building towers and marble runs, we have gift ideas for builders. For those who can’t sit still for a second, we have gift ideas for doers, and for those who love to cover the kitchen table in paint, we have gift ideas for artists. Still not sure? Check out our bestsellers: the items listed there disappear into plenty of shoes every year. And if you’re looking for something small to fill the shoe, our small shoe gifts under €25 are ready for you.

Wooden toys that last for generations

Wooden toys are as much a part of Sinterklaas as mandarins and speculaas. A train set you can expand, a dollhouse with furniture, animals that create their own story in every play area. In our wooden toys collection, you’ll find pieces that can withstand plenty of play and be passed down to a brother, sister, or niece.
