The story of Micro began with a very small problem. Wim Ouboter, a Swiss man of Dutch origin, wanted to get to his favorite deli: too far to walk, too close to take the bike. In 1996, he built the very first foldable aluminum scooter with small skate wheels for that purpose. What started as a solution for micro-distances became a Swiss design that went around the world, and today Micro is the market leader in compact folding scooters. Steering with your weight, it's just like surfing
Micro's three-wheelers work with the lean-to-steer system: you lean to the left or right and the scooter follows, after which the handlebars straighten out by themselves. Parents are often surprised by this, but children get the hang of it within a minute, because moving comes more naturally to them than turning handlebars. Micro developed it together with Swiss medical experts, with a focus on balance, coordination, and self-confidence. Moreover, the handlebar is infinitely adjustable instead of having the usual three fixed positions, so the scooter simply grows with them. And then there are the LED wheels that light up as soon as they spin, without batteries, by pure wheel rotation. Extra visible in the darker months, and especially fun to watch.
A scooter that goes from child to child
Micro builds its scooters to last. There is a two-year warranty, all parts remain available separately for at least ten years, and you can perform small repairs yourself without replacing the entire scooter. That is unique in the industry and is exactly why a Micro often ends up with a younger brother, sister, or neighbor's child. Those who want to take it a step further can choose the ECO line: deck and brake made from recycled plastic from the maritime industry, such as old fishing nets and ropes, in the light green, dark green, and black of those nets. Micro donates 1% of the sales to environmental organizations.

The Mini is made for toddlers and preschoolers, the Maxi takes over as soon as they get bigger and faster, and those who are older or long since adults choose the Sprite or the Cruiser, both of which fold up and can be taken onto the tram or train.
