Studio Roof
A sheet of cardboard only becomes a butterfly once you assemble it yourself. That is the whole idea behind Studio ROOF: colourful cardboard construction kits that arrive flat in the box and hang on your wall after a bit of puzzling. What started in 2005 with a cardboard playhouse from Romy and Ilya, together with their three children, grew in Amsterdam into a design brand that translates all of nature into paper. All designs are made from recycled cardboard and printed with vegetable ink, so what goes on your wall is also a conscious choice.
Butterflies, beetles, and a whole jungle on the wall
The butterflies are the best known, but the collection goes much further: shiny beetles, birds from sparrow to woodpecker, sea creatures and fish in bright colours, and jungle animals that seem to step out of the wall like a trophy. Hang one above a bed or fill an entire wall with them, mixing small and large.
Building together is half the fun
Assembling them is all part of the experience. The pieces click together without any fuss, making this a craft gift that will keep a six-year-old and a forty-year-old busy together for an afternoon. For the nursery, there are dinosaurs and unicorns to stand up, and for the living room, paper Artist's Bouquets based on paintings by Van Gogh, Klimt, and Matisse. Bouquets that never wilt, and an original gift for those who have everything: ordered in just a few clicks.
