Comfort, joy and lots of hugs for over 30 years
The Senger world revolves around cuddly toys, both large and small, that bring both joy and comfort. Our experience shows that a child's first toys are very special and cherished, which is why we especially appreciate Senger's approach. This German brand pays meticulous attention to detail in all its products. For over 30 years, Senger Naturwelt plush toys have been handmade, meaning each one is unique in its own way.
Sustainability is also at the heart of the brand, and they ensure they only use high-quality , long-lasting materials free of harmful chemicals. This is especially important because of the close physical contact between a child and their toys—a guarantee for a lasting friendship .
The long arms and legs, and weighted bodies invite cuddling and playing. Moreover, all the plush toys are made of eco-friendly cotton plush and virgin sheep's wool, so you don't have to worry if your child puts their stuffed animal in their mouth. The handy little animals are more suitable for young children, while the large stuffed animals are very popular with older siblings. Both also make fantastic and popular baby shower gifts .
Pure Natural Materials from Germany
When selecting materials, Senger Naturwelt carefully ensures that everything comes from Germany, such as new sheep's wool from wandering sheep in the Eifel region, spelt from the Swabian Alb, and cherry wood from the Ore Mountains. Everything is local and therefore extra sustainable.
Your Senger animal may fluff up quite a bit at first. After each production step, each animal is blown with compressed air and finally brushed and vacuumed. However, loose fibers cannot be completely avoided, especially when removing the seed pads. The woven plush of the white animals is only washed after weaving and is not dyed, bleached, or treated in any other way. However, because cotton is a natural fiber, individual fiber particles will always stick out. The dyeing of the other fabrics causes the particles to stick together tightly; this is not the case with our white plush. Therefore, the white stuffed animals may be dustier, especially at the beginning of use.
However, this is completely harmless and demonstrates the naturalness of the fiber. It is an untreated natural fiber and is not hazardous. The lint is shed during use or can simply be vacuumed off. Beating it outside can also reduce lint.
Most Senger Naturwelt geese, ducks, deer, elephants, whales, and seals are stuffed with sheep's wool from certified organic farming, obtained from nomadic shepherds in the Eifel region. Besides the use of uncontaminated natural fibers, which require no environmentally harmful substances, sheep's wool offers several advantages: it filters pollutants from the room air, has a temperature-regulating effect, and absorbs moisture and the odor of the person the cuddly toy spends most time with.
The cuddly toys have a distinctive scent, that of lanolin. This is a natural wool grease that protects the fabric from dirt and makes the wool waterproof.
It also protects the individual wool hairs from drying out and becoming itchy. You can smell this clearly, especially at first. The smell disappears after a while, but never completely. The filling smells stronger at first, especially after washing, but that
off again. It helps to put the animal in the freezer for a few hours (only dry!). Then let it dry thoroughly again.
Both Hot and Cold
Senger Naturwelt cuddly toys are more than just cute and cuddly. Thanks to the removable heat pad inside, filled with organic spelt husks or cherry stones, they can be both warm and cool. These properties change
cuddling into a whole new experience.
How do I properly warm up my Senger Naturwelt cuddly toy?
Remove the cherry pit or grape seed pillow to warm it up, as only this should be heated, not the whole animal.
Simply open the zipper at the bottom of the animal's belly.
The cherry stone or grape seed pillow:
Warm the cushion for ½-1 minute in the microwave at a maximum of 600 W or 3-5 minutes at 75 degrees in an oven.
The spelt pillow:
- Also remove the spelt husk pillow through the opening in the tummy of the stuffed animal.
- Place it in the preheated oven at 75°C for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Or heat the cushion in an environmentally friendly way on the radiator or underfloor heating; body heat also warms the cuddly toy slightly.
- The pillow should never be heated in the microwave, otherwise it will burn.
- Spelt husks are simply the outer shell of spelt grains. Therefore, their heat retention capacity isn't comparable to that of cherry stone pillows. With spelt husk pillows, the air in the cavities between the husks is heated, especially when cuddling, while with cherry stones, the entire core can retain heat for a longer period of time.
When heating, ensure that the heating pad does not get too hot, otherwise there is a risk of skin burns or overheating. The cherry stone pad should not
do not heat for too long or too much, otherwise the pillow may burn.
