Ostheimer Standing Lamb is a shy lamb that prefers to stay close to its mother, while the other lambs jump across the meadow or lie sleeping. Supplement your collection of Ostheimer figures with the other sheep and lambs, or let it play a part in your Ostheimer nativity scene. This timeless wooden toy is inspired by Waldorf education, which prefers high-quality natural materials and clear-cut toys to let creativity and imagination run wild.
Good to know: the sheep are the oldest figures from the Ostheimer workshop. They were designed even before the other farm animals, as part of the nativity scene. Margarete Ostheimer gave them the classic shape they still have today, and the shepherd with his dog later became the brand's logo.
Each figurine is handcrafted in Germany, using wood from sustainable domestic forestry. Every doll from the Ostheimer collection is a unique piece made with a lot of love and the necessary care. The water-based colors are slightly transparent to emphasize the wood grain; the play figures are not finished with varnish to keep the beauty of the wood visible. The unpainted figures are oiled with vegetable oil from organic farming.
At Ostheimer, they make toys that stimulate children's imagination and nourish their creativity. Of course, we at In den Olifant are big fans of that! The passion with which Ostheimer handcrafts open-ended toys has been a beacon of craftsmanship for over eighty years. Combine the standing lamb with other Ostheimer play figures to create an imaginative play world for your little ones.
