This squirrel is cut low and stretched, with its tail trailing behind, as if it just ran away over a branch. At 3 cm, it is one of the smallest forest animals, small enough to disappear under the crown of a tree. Each figure is handmade in Germany, using wood from sustainable domestic forestry. Every figure from the Ostheimer collection is a unique piece made with much love and the necessary care. The water-based paints are slightly transparent to highlight the wood grain; the play figures are not finished with varnish to keep the beauty of the wood visible. The unpainted figures are oiled with vegetable oil from organic farming.
