The queen wears a long cloak and a crown, and at 15.5 cm, she is one of the largest figures in the fairy tale series. Along with the king, the princess, and the knights, she naturally becomes the center of the castle game. Due to her simple, closed shape and the absence of detailed faces, she can be strict in one story and very gentle in the next.
Each figure is handmade in Germany, using wood from sustainable domestic forestry. Every doll from the Ostheimer collection is a unique piece made with much love and necessary care. The water-based colors are slightly transparent to emphasize the wood grain; the play figures are not finished with varnish to keep the beauty of the wood visible. The unpainted figures are oiled with vegetable oil from organic farming.
