About In den Olifant

In den Olifant has been Antwerp's premier toy and children's book store since 1970. Our shop is cozy and has been a fixture in the city and far beyond. Since March 2021, we have been located in a beautiful, spacious and contemporary building of more than 600 m² in Lombardenstraat (near Wilde Zee / Lombardenvest / Kammenstraat).

Our customers will find a unique and wide range of sustainable toys and children's books. Team In den Olifant offers personal expert assistance and professional advice. Our collection is original, sustainable, and we go above and beyond with our service, both in our physical store and in our rapidly growing webshop.

YOUR ROLE IN OUR TEAM
  • Greeting customers: You ensure every customer feels welcome and seen.
  • Sales and personal advice: You are interested in and knowledgeable about our wide range of products and provide customers with advice, one of In den Olifant's main selling points.
  • Refined presentation of our exclusive assortment: You ensure attractive, well-stocked shelves and create a shopping experience that surprises and inspires customers.
What do we expect from you?
  • Responsibility and meticulousness: You have an eye for detail, work accurately and ensure that the store is always in top condition.
  • Customer-friendliness: A service-oriented attitude is second nature to you; you ensure that customers leave the store with a smile.
  • You love selling.
Good to know
  • You are available for a full-time position from early September 2026.
  • Hours and weekly schedule are negotiable. Weekend work is unavoidable.
  • The selection period starts on August 1st; you can expect a response from then onwards.
