Trybike

The balance bike you secretly wish had existed when you were little. Trybike is the work of two Dutch brothers, Pim and Alex Coopmans, who began designing their own balance bike in 2015. From a country where everyone cycles comes a 2-in-1 steel balance bike that can be used before your little one even takes their first steps and grows with them for years, from about 12 months up to around six years old.

From tricycle to balance bike in a flash

Start with three wheels for extra stability and later switch easily to two: this is possible thanks to the extension set with a third wheel. The handlebars, saddle, and front wheel are height-adjustable, the center of gravity is low, and there is a footrest to really learn how to balance. Anyone who has ridden a balance bike or tricycle for a good while only needs to learn to pedal and brake later on, so they will never need training wheels. Unsure about the right moment or the right model? In our age-based guide, we compare balance bikes, tricycles, and scooters.

Made to be passed on

This Dutch design is sleek, timeless, and kept simple: sturdy steel, spoked wheels with pneumatic tires, and as few unnecessary parts as possible. If something does wear out, you can order that part separately, and once your child has finished with the bike, it simply goes to the next child. The bikes are accompanied by CoConuts bicycle helmets from the same brand, featuring a hard outer shell and a magnetic chin strap buckle that little hands can click shut themselves, available in the same colors as the bikes. Add a wicker basket to the handlebars and the first kilometers can begin: ordered in just a few clicks.
