Ostheimer's King is a wonderful addition to your child's collection of wooden play figures, immersing each of us in a fairytale world full of playful fun and imagination. This timeless wooden toy is inspired by Waldorf education, which prioritises high-quality natural materials and uncluttered toys to allow creativity and imagination to run free.
At 16 cm, the king is the largest figure in the fairytale series, and this is reflected in play: he stands in the middle and the rest arrange themselves around him. His cloak falls in one broad line to the ground, making him sturdy and calm to place. Put him next to the queen and the princess and the whole court is there.
Each figure is handmade in Germany, using wood from sustainable domestic forestry. Every doll from the Ostheimer collection is a unique piece made with much love and care. The water-based colours are slightly transparent to highlight the wood grain; the play figures are not finished with varnish to keep the beauty of the wood visible. The unpainted figures are oiled with vegetable oil from organic farming.
At Ostheimer, they make toys that stimulate children's imagination and nurture their creativity. Of course, we at In den Olifant are big fans of that! The passion with which Ostheimer handcrafts open-ended toys has been a beacon of craftsmanship for over eighty years. Combine the king with the queen, the princess, and other Ostheimer play figures to create an imaginative play world for your little ones.
