The brown calf stands a little awkwardly on its legs, ready to trudge after its mother. Place it with the brown cow and the meadow immediately becomes a farm.
Each figure is handmade in Germany, using wood from sustainable domestic forestry. Every piece from the Ostheimer collection is unique and made with great love and care. The water-based paints are slightly transparent to emphasize the wood grain; the play figures are not finished with varnish to keep the beauty of the wood visible. The unpainted figures are oiled with vegetable oil from organic farming.
