The sea otter floats on its back, as otters do at sea while cracking open a shell on their belly. Each figurine is handmade in Germany, using wood from sustainable domestic forestry. Every wooden animal from the Ostheimer collection is a unique piece, made with much love and the necessary care. The water-based colors are slightly transparent to emphasize the wood grain; the play figures are not finished with varnish to keep the beauty of the wood visible. The unpainted figures are oiled with vegetable oil from organic farming.
