Sea Otter by Ostheimer is a wonderful addition to your child's collection of wooden animals and immerses all of us in the world of imagination. This timeless wooden toy is inspired by Waldorf education, which prefers high-quality natural materials and clear toys to unleash creativity and imagination.
The sea otter floats on its back, as otters do at sea while cracking open a shell on their belly. This posture makes the figurine instantly recognizable and invites you to place a blue cloth underneath it. Together with the small swimming sea otter, the seals, and the whale, you can build an entire sea world.
Each figurine is handmade in Germany, using wood from sustainable domestic forestry. Every wooden animal from the Ostheimer collection is a unique piece, made with much love and the necessary care. The water-based colors are slightly transparent to emphasize the wood grain; the play figures are not finished with varnish to keep the beauty of the wood visible. The unpainted figures are oiled with vegetable oil from organic farming.
At Ostheimer, they make toys that stimulate children's imagination and nourish their creativity. Of course, we at In den Olifant are big fans of that! The passion with which Ostheimer handcrafts open-ended toys has been a beacon of craftsmanship for over eighty years. Combine the sea otter with the seals, the whale, and other Ostheimer play figures to create an imaginative play world for your little ones.
