This brown lamb stands on its four legs with its head held high, as if it has just lost sight of its mother. Ostheimer describes lambs as shy creatures who prefer to stay close to the ewe, and this is evident in its small, compact 6 cm form. The sheep, by the way, are the oldest figures from the workshop: they were designed for the nativity scene even before the other farm animals.

Each figure is handcrafted in Germany, using wood from sustainable domestic forestry. Every figurine from the Ostheimer collection is a unique piece made with a lot of love and necessary care. The water-based colors are slightly transparent to emphasize the wood grain; the play figures are not finished with varnish to keep the beauty of the wood visible. The unpainted figures are oiled with vegetable oil from organic farming.
