Wild boar from Ostheimer is a beautiful piece of wooden toy and immerses every child in a world of imagination. Supplement your collection of Ostheimer figures with other figurines. This timeless wooden toy is inspired by Waldorf education, which prefers high-quality natural materials and clear toys to unleash creativity and imagination.
This is the sow, the female of the wild boars: 7.4 cm high, with a lower and rounder body than the male. In the forest she stays with her piglets, so with a few striped younglings added, a family is immediately at play. The dark bristly back extends into the head and beautifully shows through the wood grain.
Each figurine is handcrafted in Germany, using wood from sustainable domestic forestry. Each doll from the Ostheimer collection is a unique piece made with great love and the necessary care. The water-based colors are slightly transparent to emphasize the wood grain; the play figures are not finished with varnish to keep the beauty of the wood visible. The unlacquered figures are oiled with vegetable oil from organic farming.
At Ostheimer, they make toys that stimulate children's imagination and nourish their creativity. We are, of course, fans of that at In den Olifant! The passion with which Ostheimer handcrafts open-ended toys has been a beacon of craftsmanship for over eighty years. Combine the wild boar with the wild boar male, the trees, and other Ostheimer play figures to create an imaginative play world for your children.
